Growing up my family and I would drive from Denver to Aspen for our Spring Break trip and every year we would pass by the big red building that is the Argo Gold Mine. Visiting this location and being able to see what lies inside the big red building was very interesting. The history of this mine is rich because it is the prime reason why people migrated to Colorado. At one point, people sought out Colorado for gold and wealth. Today, people travel here for the great skiing, outdoor activities, people, work, etc.
As I walked through the mine, I was overwhelmed by all of amazing photography opportunities. I could have spent days in the mine photographing my peers and all the small details of the old machinery. When I came home I was amazed that I had taken nearly 1000 photos in just a few hours. Narrowing these photographs down to the collection you see now was challenging, but it shows a variety of the images I captured on this day. All in all, I hope to be able to visit more hidden treasures tucked away on my drive from Denver to Aspen.
