Today, I visited NIST where the Atomic Clock for the United States is located. This clock regulates and sets the standards for time across the entire country.
This clock is one of the most accurate clocks in the world. So accurate that it will only be a second off in 1 million years. However, the physicists at NIST are still working to improve the clock and the way time is kept.
On my tour through NIST, I was taken into many labs and lectured on quantum physics. All in all, I left quite happy with not only my photographs, but also my life choice to not pursue physics, or science for that matter.
